Happy Birthday, Shawnee!

Shawnee, I love you and love thinking of the many memories I have with you. One that comes to mind, that others may remember....We were in Sandy Valley at a family gathering of some sort (we had so many more back in those days) and you and I decided to have a race. We started running and there was a big mud puddle that we ran through. I got through it somehow, but you slipped and slid through it on one leg, fell down, and bounced back up then beat me to the end line. I remember laughing so hard. That was a good day for me. I hope you have a great birthday and I am so glad that you are in our family. You have added so much to the family and have been an example to me. Thank you for all that you have done for me. Love ya!

An Idea!

I just thought of an idea--Whenever it is someone's birthday or anniversary, we should use the blog to send a message to that person or persons. What do you think? I'll start with Shawnee, since today is her birthday. Maybe you could leave a favorite memory that you have about that person or with that person. It could either be a comment, or just make a new post.

I just wanted to let the family know that I have created a blog. It only has 3 pictures so far. We got 8" of snow last night and it is now blowing. We are going out to pull the kids around on the 4 wheeler. We'll take pictures and post them someday. Hopefully soon. Merry Christmas!

Snow In Sandy Valley

We got real snow in Sandy Valley this week. It was wet and heavy snow. The pine tree branches were weighted down with the pretty white wetness.

On Thursday school was closed - then the sun came out and melted most of it.
I'd post more photos if my computer was faster.

Thanksgiving 2008 in Sandy Valley. We had a great time with 25 of our family of 40. We missed Darrin's family, Brian's family, and Doug's family. Randy and Dylan brought clay pigeons and 22's for shooting. Jason and Shantel came with their family in a new RV - and Roxie came too. Our cat's stayed out of sight the whole time we had company. Deveny and David brought their RV also - and David cooked an excellent dutch oven breakfast as usual. Tyler and Rose and Avery headed the hike at Red Rock. Candis and Ryan came prepared to teach us a new art in making dinner rolls. Here are a few pictures of the event. (Remember this is all new to me - adding to the blog spot - so I hope it works.
